Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Private Way License road crossing near Aztez, New Mexico on the narrow gauge Farmington Branch November 11, 1947 signed by the Chief Engineer A.E. Perlman. Lot of 22 items. 19 letters 1 Private Way License 2 Track Blue Prints RARE....Includes 2 letters from A.E. Perlman & 2 letters addressed to A.E. Perlman. At this time Alfred Perlman was Chief Engineer of the DRGW. in 1948 he became General Manager then in 1952 became Executive Vice-President. in 1954 he went to work for the New York Central & in 1958 became the CEO of the NYC . Mr. Perlman was involved in the famous Jet Train where in 1966 where a Budd Car was fitted with a jet engine & recorded a speed of 183.85 mph. in 1968 he became President of the Penn Central. Then in 1970 he became President of the Western Pacific & in 1972 CEO of the WP until his retirement in 1976. Prior to working for the DRGW he went to work for the Northern Pacific in 1931 as a draftsman & in 1934 assistant to the Vice President.
