At this time Alfred Perlman was Chief Engineer of the DRGW. in 1948 he became General Manager then in 1952 became Executive Vice-President. in 1954 he went to work for the New York Central & in 1958 became the CEO of the NYC . Mr. Perlman was involved in the famous Jet Train where in 1966 where a Budd Car was fitted with a jet engine & recorded a speed of 183.85 mph. in 1968 he became President of the Penn Central. Then in 1970 he became President of the Western Pacific & in 1972 CEO of the WP until his retirement in 1976. Prior to working for the DRGW he went to work for the Northern Pacific in 1931 as a draftsman & in 1934 assistant to the Vice President.
