Bete Tusk Mask African made by the Bete ethnic group. Côte d'Ivoire is home to the Bete ethnic group. The Tusk masks were carved to wear to war. It was intended to frighten their opponent. This African collectible was purchased from a New Mexico Anthropologist as part of a group purchase of artifacts he had used during lecture tours of colleges & organizations some of the items he gathered in trips to Africa beginning in the 1960s.
