From years gone by another form of ironing clothes with this cast iron coal heavy iron with duck head lift & wood handle The ducks head lifts to put the charcoal or coal in the press, they would sometimes set it on the kitchen wood stove to keep it warm while ironing the farm house clothes. This is a large iron for heavy clothes no bottom to set the iron on, also could be used as a door stop There is a lever on the back I don't know what it was used for Nice for the farm house decor.
