Description

These paper dresses from the 60s are just amazing. I have another one listed but came across this recently & couldn't resist. The florals are fabulous & it is quite wearable. The Scott tissue company introduced paper dresses as a marketing tool & they became so popular that other companies jumped on the bandwagon. The Mars company debuted & Waste Paper line & it took off. It was quite big with the mod, hippie crowd of the 60s. Believe they are made of cellulose & some cotton. This one has pink cotton ties. Check out the bright pop art florals. Although you can still find them, they were only made for a short period of time so are collectible & will become more so as time goes on. This is beautiful & in amazing condition; the only issue is two small spots on back (see next to last pix) & maybe just a hint of crinkling in one tiny area on hem. Very wearable. Great for summer or 60s party. . This one is not stiff as some are & you could wear easily with care. Just great piece of 60's fashion history. It was too large for my small fake mannequin as you can see in pix & a bit tight in chest on larger on. It is labeled "Tiny 8-10" but more like 6 today I would imagine. Go by measurements & leave room so don't stress the material. Measurements Underarm to underarm across the back (really back & front pretty much the same) 17 Across the waist area 19 Across the hip area 21 Length 35.5 from bottom of straps & straps 12-13 Rare Original 60S Paper Dress in Bright Summer Florals, Waste Boutique, Made By Mars Of Asheville, Nc, Boho Hippie Mod
