This vintage feminist sweatshirt design originally appeared on rally pins for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). The ERA was a proposed amendment to the Constitution that would guarantee equal rights for women. It was introduced to Congress in 1923shortly after women earned the right to votebut was also later an major focus of the women's liberation movement. ERA YES pins acted as a symbol of support during the ongoing debate for states to ratify the ERA. It still has not been ratified in all 50 states.
