I'm obsessed. Whimsical, fabulously kitschy vintage 1960s octagonal box purse with illustrations of mod children at a fair! This is a rigid box-style purse with 8 sides made from what feels like a composite material of wood & plastic, but who knows? It's very hard & durable! It is has amazing line drawing illustrations of mod big-headed moppet-type children at a merry-go-round / fair. The illustrations are similar to Joan Walsh Anglund. The color is a kind of vanilla brown with black & antiques gold tone hardware, including four purse feet on the bottom. The lid is hinged & reveals a velvet-lined bottom with velvet strips at each corner. Round mirror on the lid. Unmarked. The purse measures 6" in diameter & is 5 1/2" tall (not including the metal handle.) Very good vintage condition. The purse itself is solid as a rock. There is some scuffing/light chipping damage at one corner seam of the octagon on the outside & some cloudiness to the mirror. Thank you for having a gander!
