The front side is a woven18th century ( late 1700's red silk damask~ the silk is STUNNING! ~ Wonderful large scale damask. ~ this textile has the original passementerie that runs along the sides. I'm not sure what this textile would have been used for , but perhaps a bed canopy top ? ~ It's back in a woven furnishing fabric, red & blue ~ ~ this textile would be fabulous for deconstructing & repurposing! ~ it's a wonderful find. The red is vibrant & saturated MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approximately 62 inches wide at the top, 66 inches long. CONDITION : This textile is in remarkable condition for it's age. The colors are strong. There are some splits in the silk ( please use the zoom feature to view the condition closely ~ There are some small holes along the side edge ~ condition commensurate with age. ~ lovely , but not perfect Inventory : X 201 1700's Antique French Red Silk 18Th Century
