I love creating mermaids because there are lots of great curves & movement, plus I love a good story - one you can wear! I found these beautiful abalone shell beads at the Tucson Gem show & that the color play is fantastic. Each one is unique & the color shift will vary from stone to stone. Pearls, no matter the color, are always a beautiful accent & these rainbow ones compliment the blue & greens in the abalone which simply glows in reflected light.
