Description
The Golden Trout (Oncorhynchus aguabonita) while not native to Wyoming, does have an interesting history. Golden's were introduced to Wyoming from California & is now stocked in 133 high alpine lakes in Wyoming. Which makes catching one of these beauties not for the faint at heart. The Golden is known for its great coloring - a red lateral band often with dark vertical banding (parr marks) along the flank which divides the upper greenish section from the lower gold portion. The top & tail are covered with black spots. A defining characteristic of a Golden is the white tip on the fins. Comes with a small brass (gold colored) charm on the back with a hand-illustrated & stamped dry fly or trout.
