Vintage US Army Souvenir Pillowcase, US Army Military Police Camp Gordon GA Sweetheart Gift This decorative vintage pillowcase from the 1950s era was intended as a gift to be sent to a sweetheart, from a Military Police school attendee. Camp Gordon is now called Fort Gordon, & has a detailed history. It served the function of Military Police school beginning in 1948; & by 1956, had been renamed Fort Gordon. This pillowcase is a satin weave with a design screen printed or painted on. The design itself is in great overall condition, but there is a bit of dirt or discoloration in a couple of places - this was likely poorly stored for at least part of its long life. The edge has golden yellow fringe attached with red thread - which matches the print of the fabric really beautifully. The print features some giant roses, banners, a militia of soldiers in camouflage, & a shield with an American Eagle. The opening to insert a pillow is at the bottom, & there is no closure. Besides acting as a pillow, these are beautiful when framed, or simply hung to use as decor. Such beautiful pieces of history! Gorgeous for bohemian, mid century, moody maximalism decor styles.
