This Louis IV Vintage Style Commode was elegant but as an artist, I wanted to make it my canvas. The metal trim provided three natural frames for me to work in. I knew that I wanted the front to be a landscape or waterscape. We have these beautiful herons that build their nest on a little island near our cove. They were my inspiration.I felt that their long slender bodies & necks would lend themselves well to the sides & the front needed to be a scene in which they could be seen living. The dark black backgrounds allowed their white feathers & bodies to really stand out. The green vegetation worked well with the marble top. So the piece came together. 38 inches high x 32 inchesw ide x 18 inches deep. This is my naturalist updated artist's version painted on an elegant early 1900's French Louis IV Style commode. It would be lovely in an entryway, accent piece in a living room, or really anywhere that you need a little art & a nice place to store items like in a dinning room.
