Description

These two unmarked Scammell 3¼" off-white butter pats bearing the "Semiranus" pattern have been little, if ever, used. Produced on a rolled-edge coupe-shape blank, they're in excellent condition with no chips, dings, scratches, stains, or dishwasher damage. The glaze is smooth, shiny & slippery all-over with just the slightest "signs of life" on the upper surfaces. We estimate that they were produced from the 1930s to Scammell's closing in 1954. Although unmarked, we can identify this at Scamell's "Semiranus" by this listing on page 151 in Larry Paul's book on the Lamberton Works: https://www.larryrpaul.com/Lamberton-Book-low-res.pdf Follow this link to see this pattern with a Foster's topmark: https://rwcn-idwiki-2.restaurantwarecollectors.com/content/fosters-cafeterias-4/ We're diligent & uncompromising packers with decades of experience. These pats will be padded, snugly wrapped in layers of bubble wrap, then packed in a roomy, well-padded box. We're restaurant ware specialists listing hundreds of collector-quality pieces, including dozens of butter pats. We have thousands of unlisted items, so please message us with any special requests or shipping questions. We gladly combine orders to save on shipping costs. When possible, we ship creamers, mustards, butter pats & other light items via USPS First Class Insured & refund any excess postage. Thanks for visiting our shop! HF224 It appears that someone at Scammell took liberty in the spelling of "Semiranus." When spelled "Semiramis," we learn that she was a legendary Assyrian queen.
