Description

Early American Pressed Glass store cannister for tobacco, unknown maker or pattern, ca 1900. Wonderful store cannister that was used for tobacco. The lid bears the patent date of August 28, 1900 which was for the fastener used to secure the lid (now missing), issued August 28, 1900 to William Robson of Toronto, ON & assigned to William Pierce of Buffalo, NY.. I have seen seen examples of these labeled with Pattersons Tuxedo Tobacco. I don't know that this cannister was exclusive for their product. This jar measures 5 1/2" tall, 7" tall to the lid. There is no damage to this piece. A wonderful piece of general store memorabilia. This is such a nice piece & would be great in any collection or home decor. Sold as is, condition issues, if any, noted. Early American Pattern Glass Store Cannister, Patterson Tuxedo Tobacco Jar; Unknown Maker, Unnamed Ca 1900
