Description

The Lorrie Deb dress from the 1950s to early 60s is a beauty. The color is hard to capture on camera, but it is a pale slightly green aqua & blue floral damask taffeta. The capped sleeves sit wide on the shoulders to emphasize the cinched waist. A slight v neckline mirrors the sharp v at the waist. The bust line is structured & a little large for my 34" bust mannequin. Chiffon is softly gathered at the waist & carried around to the back where it falls in a dreamy train with pintuck pleats at the bottom edge. The chiffon is actually circular if held away from the dress, not just one flat piece so it hangs beautifully. A deeper v in the back. The skirt features a deep pleat in the front & would probably benefit from a petticoat worn underneath to help it stand out. The skirt is completely lined in crinoline. Zips up the back with a hook & eye at the top of the zipper & another at the waist. The dress has been altered, making it shorter than originally intended. The hem was not cut off, so there is a 9 1/2" hem, expertly done. There is one issue, the chiffon at the waist is frayed in one place at the back. The taffeta has a lot of body & I am not sure about the fabric content, it may be a silk blend. The label states that the dress is a size 15. Measurements laying flat are: Bust is 18" from underarm seam to underarm seam, probably a 36" to 38" bust. The front has ample fabric. Waist from back side seam to seam is 14 1/4" Hangs full from the waist From back shoulder to the hem is 39 1/4". Please check each of the measurements we have listed & if you need more, just ask.
