Celebrate the Century - 1960's This set in the Celebrate the Century series, prepared for the Millennium celebration, honors people & events prominent in the decade 1960-1969 of the 20th century. There were 10 sheets in this series, one for each decade, with 15 stamps on each sheet for a total of 150 different stamps. Each stamp only appeared once on each sheet. Introduced April 17, 1964, the Ford Mustang was Ford Motor Company's most successful model launch since its Model A. The Mustang was the first of the "pony car" class of U.S. vehicles, which included the AMD Javelin, Plymouth Barracuda, & Chevrolet Camaro. The Mustang was introduced at the New York World's Fair & continues in production. The original concept of the Mustang was as a two-seater, an approach abandoned because of low sales experienced by the 1955 Thunderbird. The Mustang's first use in a movie was in the James Bond's thriller "Goldfinger." Mix & Match values to make the current rate.
