Vintage African Striped Textile Backpack. This wonderful backpack in a bright glittery yellow & very dark navy blue stripe was made in Benin, West Africa by a cooperative of young teenage girls, trying to break the cycle of poverty in their lives & the lives of their families. These young girls get together to sew various beautiful African fabric bags in a variety of styles from small change purses, cosmetic bags, tote bags & backpacks. The bag is quite sturdy & very well made. This backpack is the usual size for a backpack, measuring approximately 16" x 13" inches with a large fold over flap which covers a draw string closure. Inside are several nice sized pockets to store smaller items like pencils, pens, phone, change purse, glasses etc. The pack is lined with two different solid yellow fabrics. This pack would be ideal for school, college, a bike ride to the store for groceries or anytime you want a carryall which has a unique, fun style. Thank you for stopping & shopping at our Etsy shop.
