this is a spectacular vintage bird lithograph printed in new york, usa in 1950 on thin light cream paper with a matte finish - it is two sided with another bird on the back please note ~ the scans & the backlit computer monitor may make the prints seem brighter on screen then in person - but they are detailed a& richly coloured in person each print is title in english at the bottom of the print with 'descriptive captions' by ludlow griscom found under the title of the bird this text is usually matted out & will not interfere with the rotation of the image ie. the text may sometime be 90 degrees offset from the image the images were originally paintings from 1827~1838 by jj audubon ~ it was & still is considered one of the finest ornithological works a copy of the title page with the date, publisher & printer's information will be included with the print the paper measures aprox. 5.5 x 8" the actual image measures aprox. 4 x 5" ~ making enough border for matting & framing ~ all prints come in a new clear archival envelope - ready for gifting or keeping! ~ please look at scan & photos closely for any minor aging on the print ~ as it is over 60 years old! ~ usa shipping charges include full insurance against loss & damage thanks for looking! ~ i have many more bird from this series...please check my shop for others...
