Description

A pierced sterling silver scent bottle with a hinged cap. The original green glass inner bottle & the stopper are intact. The outer bottle motif is that of scrolling foliate, two birds flank a shield with a grotesque face beneath. There are no monograms. This bottle was made in 1897 by London silversmith William Comyns & Sons. It's possible that the two sides open at the seam so the bottle can be replaced. The bottle measures 2 7/8 H x 1 7/8 W x 1 1/8 D inches. CONDITION: No significant flaws. One tiny dent found on the cap. The glass stopper has a few small chips at the bottom of the top pull.
