Haeger Potteries Cadet Blue Pedestal Flower Bowl A squat pedestal flower bowl with an interesting swirl pattern in a not often seen glaze color of cadet blue. Dimensions: 8" diameter, 5" tall Condition: Great vintage shape When I acquired this, this had the foil Haeger sticker fixed to the bottom. It looked like it was still well affixed & some caked on sticker residue in the center of the base was also very well affixed. I figured a little Goo Gone, as long as I don't put any on the sticker, would be OK. Little did I know that while the sticker itself was well attached, the foil portion was not. The motion of the rag, the dry portion of the rag mind you, was enough for it to fall off & down the drain it went. Now that that's off my chest, let's talk about this guy. I was surprised at first to discover this was even Haeger. It wasn't a shape or glaze color I remember seeing before. The cadet blue was a sharp difference from the bright multi-colored glazes we were getting during the Royal Haeger years. Based on this, as well as how the shape & color seem to fit that time period, my guess is this was made during some of Haeger's later years in the 80s or 90s as part of their floristware line. This flower bowl measures 8" in diameter & 5" tall. The bottom of the bowl, which extends down into the pedestal, is uneven with a few clumps of clay poking through the surface of the glaze. This is not damage but how it came out of production. Whether this was intentional or not is an entirely different question.
