PA Dutch Hex Sign, 36" Double Distelfink distressed barn sign, two birds, indoor/outdoor carved folk art, home garden decor, folklore art Each piece is hand-painted by David, one at a time, not on a production line, so there will be differences between each piece. It is impossible to match each piece exactly to the pictures. Hex signs, 36" diameter x 3/4" thick, engraved on a CNC machine & hand-painted. Material is MDF (compressed wood), with exterior grade finish that can be used indoors or outdoors Item pictured is currently in stock, but custom colors are available upon request with an approximate 4 week lead time. "These signs are not the traditional, 1 dimensional hex sign, but our version of a weathered barn star "ghost". Barn stars naturally weather in the elements by a process known as "differential solar weathering". This produces an interaction between the suns rays & the surface of the wood, which in turn, produces a pronounced relief over the course of many years. This relief is called a "ghost", which has the appearance of being carved. Our signs are purposefully carved with fine detailed hand painting for you to enjoy today & for years to come.
