Description
SAND-Here is another nice fossil sand dollar miniature specimen. It is a fossil from Madagascar & it lived between 145 - 200 million years ago & is a very close relative to the sea urchin & heart urchin. They are all members of the Echinoid family. The big difference between sea urchins & the sand dollar is that the spines found on a sand dollar are tiny in comparison to the spines on a sea urchin. This fossil is attached with museum putty in a 40mm square X 62mm clear display box. The specimen measures approx 32mm X 32mm X 12mm. No enhancement has been done to the pictures or specimen, nice addition to anyone's collection. Pictures are taken outside in natural light. Sand Dollar Fossil Miniature Specimen
