This is a great little velvet lined jewelry box perfect for anyone with some trinkets to store. Measuring about 7 7/8" by 6 1/2" & 1 3/4" high, the box is painted gold with a scalloped shaped top & an embossed pressed Florentine design in the wood. in the center is a reproduction of a classic masterpiece painting. The image is of the French socialite Madame Recamier by Francois Gerard. It opens on a hinge & has a nice velvet lined divided interior, perfect for some trinkets or jewelry. I estimate the states to the 1950s, possibly 1960s. in very good preowned vintage condition, the box has minimal wear & is free from damage or repair.
