Very cool round heavy piece for hanging/decor. Measures about 10.5" wide. Aztec Sun Disk is Made of colorful crushed malachite stone resin, this sun disk/ plaque is of Mexican origin. The plaque is a depiction of the official Aztec Sun Stone (or Stone of the Five Eras & sometimes called the Calendar Stone). There is a loop for hanging but could also be displayed on a table. The sculpted motifs that cover the surface of the stone refer to central components of the Aztec cosmology. in the center is the face of the solar deity, Tonatiuh, & the four squares that surround the central deity represent the four previous suns or eras. The original was unearthed in 1792 & today has been reproduced, probably by the millions, as a highly popular art form No chips or repairs. There is a hint of gold here & there.
