Box shows slight wear & has tape on bottom of box but is in overall good condition It is an age-old dream that every American, from the most humble to the most exalted, has the opportunity to someday become President of the United States. Even people with very little interest in politics are fascinated with the awesome mystique surrounding the most powerful political office in the world. Here is a game that uniquely combines skill & luck, is both fun & educational, essentially simple yet thought-provoking & varied. It is exciting, suspenseful, & provides healthy sense of competition & power. in Running for President, candidates compete for Vote Chips, campaigning in various cities on a campaign travel map, with options of press conferences, debate, campaign spending, & fund raising, using issue cards, public opinion cards, vote boards, & millions of dollars in campaign fund notes. There is high level strategy & skill in deciding both HOW to campaign & WHERE to campaign - selecting methods & places most crucial, advantageous, or feasible at each turn. Elements of skill however, constantly interact with elements of luck, including the uncertainty of public opinion cards, & the throw of the die. The game is strikingly similar to a real election in many ways, yet can be fully played in about two hours. Various aspects of the game are mathematically paced & balanced for close & exciting elections within a limited time frame.
