From the lowest elevations along the coast of Long Island to the highest point, Mount Marcy in the Adirondack Mountains, this 3D relief carving allows you to appreciate the beauty of NY in a way that simply isn't possible in 2 dimensions. To ensure the accuracy of this wooden map carving, the 3D elevation data is obtained from the USGS, converted into a 3D model, & then carved from Baltic Birch on a cnc router. Fine details are then carved by hand, after which the map is sanded & a hand rubbed finish is applied. A pocket is carved into the back of the piece allowing it to be hung on any wall in your home or camp. This piece is certain to become the focal point of any room in which it is displayed.
