This Natural High Grade Carico Lake Blue Turquoise Pendant was fabricated in my studio using 14k gold & sterling silver. This gorgeous cabochon is worthy to be set in gold. It will include a 18" Sterling Silver chain. The cabochon is set with a 1/8" tall solid 14k bezel, & the bale is solid 14k Gold. Soldered on a 24 gauge sterling silver plate. The sterling silver has a mirror finish. The Pendant is approximately 1 1/4" (28 mm) tall including the bale x 11/16" ( 18 mm) wide & weighs 2.6 grams. Carico Lake turquoise is named after the location of its mines on a dried up lake bed in a high, cool area of Lander County, Nevada. Its clear, iridescent, spring green color is due to its zinc content & is highly unique & collectible. Carico Lake turquoise is also found in a dark blue-green color with a black or brown, spider web matrix. The less common lime green turquoise which is suspect to actually be predominately faustite, is very valuable due to it scarcity & demand. It is hard material. This mine is also known to produce rare psuedomorph clams that are filled with turquoise. Following numerous requests from those of you that do not have a jeweler.
