These modern large Natural Intense Blue Battle Mountain Blue Gem Turquoise Cuff Links were fabricated in my studio using Sterling Silver & the finest Natural Turquoise on the market today. These gorgeous all natural rare intense electric blue gem grade Battle Mountain Turquoise cabochons with their unique natural matrix are amazing. The cabochons are set in a heavy cast sterling silver setting. Each Cuff Link is approximately 17.8 mm ( nearly 3/4" ) Round with a total weight of 13.3 grams. The cabochon is beautiful & measures approximately 16 mm ( 5/8" ) x 3.6 mm. The Blue Gem Turquoise Mine was located in the Copper Basin area southwest of Battle Mountain, Lander County, Nevada, USA. Production of this turquoise mine started about 1934 & continued until the 1970's. Blue Gem Turquoise is some of the finest turquoise ever found, & unlike most turquoise mines, (in which the majority mined is chalky & only usable if stabilized) most of the turquoise found there was of gem-quality. There is a distinctive aqua color that some people associate with Blue Gem turquoise, although it produced a great variety of colors, especially when intense blue was combined with deep green in one stone. Very little large material ever came out of the Blue Gem Turquoise Mine, the majority found was small 1mm - 4mm "feeder" veins.
