This is a pair of vintage salt & pepper shakers dated 1935. in hand-written yellow paint, the wooden shakers read "From the 'Shepherd of the Hills' Country 1935." This places them as a tourist piece from the Ozark region of Branson, MO. Fans of the 1907 book "Shepherd of the Hills" brought increased visitors to the region, & in the 1940s the original homestead featured in the book was opened to the public.
