Beautiful & rare Waltham Non Magnetic 15 jewel watch, Model 1883, made 1887. The movement is in perfect working order & has just been serviced. All jeweling is perfect, watch has gold jewel settings, shiny blue movement screws, & gold balance screws. The balance wheel is likely of a Palladium alloy recently invented by Charles-Auguste Paillard at that time, & likely used under limited license (but that information should be confirmed through independent research). The watch is of the correct date & the Balance wheel is clearly not of normal brass & steel construction. The movement nickel plate has some of the finest brushed details & patterning (Damascening) you can find on this model. A very beautiful movement to view through the salesman case back. The case is solid coin silver & in good shape but with some scratches around the bezel at the back. The dial is in really good shape, triple sunk enamel with red 24 hour inner counters. Two small hairlines at 6 o'clock & one at 12 o'clock. Hands are original, nicely detailed, & beautifully blue. Watch has 2 new old stock glass crystals Watch is clean & ready to be used every day. Comes inside an exotic wood watch box, made here in the shop. Perfect for gifting. Color is random.
