This modern brushed patina finish Natural Battle Mountain Turquoise ring was fabricated in my studio using 14k gold, & sterling silver. This gorgeous all natural Battle Mountain Intense Aqua Blue Turquoise cabochon is worthy to be set in gold. The cabochon is set with a 1/8" tall 14k Gold bezel. The sterling silver rectangle ring band is adorned with a brushed & wonderful hand finished 1/8" wide 30 gauge strip of 14k Gold. The bezel, band are soldered on a 24 gauge sterling silver back plate. The Ring is approximately 25.9 mm ( Just over 1" ) long x 11.2 mm ( 7/16" ) wide & weighs 5.8 grams The Stone measures 23.2 mm ( 15/16" ) long x 8 mm ( 5/16" ) wide. Due to the unique fabricated construction of this 14k Gold & Sterling Silver ring band I am unable to resize this ring. I have carefully measured the ring size as accurately as possible & posted it in this listing. This ring is a size 7 1/2. The Blue Gem Turquoise Mine was located in the Copper Basin area southwest of Battle Mountain, Lander County, Nevada, USA. Production of this turquoise mine started about 1934 & continued until the 1970's. Blue Gem Turquoise is some of the finest turquoise ever found, & unlike most turquoise mines, (in which the majority mined is chalky & only usable if stabilized) most of the turquoise found there was of gem-quality. There is a distinctive aqua color that some people associate with Blue Gem turquoise, although it produced a great variety of colors, especially when intense blue was combined with deep green in one stone. Very little large material ever came out of the Blue Gem Turquoise Mine, the majority found was small 1mm - 4mm "feeder" veins.
