This modern Natural Battle Mountain Turquoise ring was fabricated in my studio using Sterling Silver, 14k Gold beads, & .999 Fine Silver polished to a mirror finish. The cabochon is set with a 1/8" tall .999 fine silver bezel. The two single rows of side beads are solid 14k gold & reflect beautifully on the bezel. The heavy sterling silver rectangle band, .999 Fine Silver bezel, & 14K Gold beads are soldered on a 26 gauge sterling silver back plate. The Ring is Nearly 7/16" long x 1/2 " wide & weighs 4.5 grams This Gem High-Grade Battle Mountain Turquoise Cabochon Measures approximately 3/8". Due to the unique fabricated construction of this Sterling Silver rectangle ring band I am unable to resize this ring. I have carefully measured the ring size as accurately as possible & posted it in this listing. This ring is a size 8 1/4. The Blue Gem Turquoise Mine was located in the Copper Basin area southwest of Battle Mountain, Nevada, USA. Production of this turquoise mine started about 1934 & continued until the 1970's. Blue Gem Turquoise is still some of the finest turquoise ever found, & unlike most turquoise mines, (in which the majority mined is chalky & only usable if stabilized) most of the turquoise found there was of gem-quality. There is a distinctive aqua color that some people associate with Blue Gem turquoise, although it produced a great variety of colors, especially when intense blue was combined with deep green in one stone. Very little large material ever came out of the Blue Gem Turquoise Mine, the majority found was small 1mm - 4mm "feeder" veins. Thus the reason for the light backing. I've tried my best to catch the intense blue in my photographs, but this turquoise is difficult to photograph. It is the finest turquoise blue I have ever worked with. It far surpasses sleeping beauty in color & hardness. Following numerous requests from those of you that do not have a jeweler.
