Kente fabric, Handwoven from Ghana. Kente yard is not the same as African fabric/ankara . This woven top-notch quality kente is not measured like the normal African fabric/Ankara. Handwoven kente in "yards" is an estimate & not exact. The Kente strips are joined together to make 2 yards for a piece in three to make 6 yards. 6 yards kente comes in three pieces. The first piece is between 55 - 65 inches long & width is 43 - 45 inches. The Second piece is between 55 - 65 inches long & width is between 37 - 39inches. The third piece between is 55- 65 inches long & the width is between 35-38 inches. Please for you to make a dress, you would the 6 yards( 3 bundles) to make the dress. You can as well request for it to be made like a traditional kente for engagement & just like how queen mothers' put on. 2 yards comes in one piece & be made into attire for children or for a design for adults. 4 yards comes in two pieces. 4 yards can made into an attire for teenager or for an adult. The weavers weave it up to 14 or 15 stripes & join all the stripes to make the full 12 yards kente but when they weave it in small stripes it's either 17 or 18 stripes to make the full 12yards kente. This is purely handwoven kente fabric. Men wear the 12 yards & its one full piece.
