This is an antique, bevel-matted engraving, from an old publication, HARPER'S BAZAR, published in 1874. The prints in this series have text on the reverse, & are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger & far more long lasting than the newspaper we know today. The print is matted in an off-white acid free matte & is backed by a black acid free back-board which is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, but which should be kept with the print when framed. No foxing, creasing, tears, or folds. A really fine image. Excellent definition. Nice clean, sharp lines & good margins. This print is over 145 years old & guaranteed to be original. It's an authentic old print from the aforementioned publication, & NOT A REPRODUCTION. The print is about 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" (including the visible border around the print). Matted the print measures 9" x 12". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frameno costly custom frames required.
