This vintage metal piece is likely off the face plate of a residential water meter. It measures for gallons, & appears that it was placed over the metered numbers. It, likely, had a dial hand that measured the number of hundred gallons - as you can see in the upper right corner of the plate. I have had little success in finding others of this type. If you know anything about it, please message me! Pittsburgh Equitable Meter Co. was doing business under that name up until the mid 1940s, so that helped me to date the item.
