Here is a vintage Masonic ring that is simple in design as well as classic. The top sports the traditional Masonic symbols of the compass & square. It has a nice, heavy ring shank at the bottom for many more years of continuous use as well as a solid top for comfort on the finger. I'm taking offers on this unique ring. The compass & square design is hand engraved into the top of this ring by a talented engraver, making this ring unique as compared to the factory made ring on the market. As you can see in the photos, the inside is hallmarked in the British manner with a carat mark & its decimal equivalent, city of assay mark & a year of production mark. in this case the carat is 9 ct. or .375, the anchor means it was assayed in the city of Birmingham, England, & the year letter, in this case a Y, means 1973-4. The ring is now a size 9 1/2 but any good jeweler can resize it for you for a fee. The weight is 7.53 grams of solid yellow 9 carat gold. 9 carat gold is used throughout English Commonwealth countries the was we use 10K gold.
