1979 Memorial Penny - Fantastic Condition - Slight hints of wear marks, no significant contact marks, almost full mint luster, & positive eye appeal. On Sunday morning, December 21, 1958, President Eisenhower issued a press release announcing a new reverse design for the cent would begin production on January 2, 1959. The new design featured the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The coin was officially released on February 12, 1959, the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. These pennies turn 43 years old this year (2022). Would make a cool gift for someone's 44th birthday. As can be seen in the pictures, the coin is in great shape.
