The Wild Petunia is a perennial plant with colorful flowers that is grown in containers & in gardens. It is one of the wild petunia species from which the cultivated petunias were developed. It is native to South America. It has funnel-shaped, rosy-purple flowers. It is grown as an annual & a container plant in northern regions & in southern regions it can be grown as a garden plant. Hardy in zones 8-10. Growing Instructions for the Wild Petunia The seeds like moist, well-drained soil. Use a sterile seed starter mix, if available. It prevents soil fungi from damaging the seeds & the seedlings. If not available, then make a mixture of half potting soil & half sand, perlite or vermiculite. Put the soil in a pot. 4. Put the seeds on the soil. 5. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. 6. Water the mixture so that it is moist but not wet. 7.
