Description
World's Columbian Exposition souvenir teaspoon depicting Columbus & one of his ships on the handle, American, c. 1892. The back is marked U.S. Sterling, which is likely a deceptive trade name as it appears to be silver plate. The bowl has a gold wash on it & is inscribed "Lewis Photo Artist," presumably one of the exhibitors at the fair. This piece descended in the Spratt family, aviation pioneers & Wright Brothers associates. Dimensions 5 3/4" L Condition Surface tarnish; generally good.
