Such an interesting Modernist design with a distinctly pagan feel, it was made in Taxco, Mexico sometime in the late 1970s. The design of the bracelet highlights a Mid-Century Modernist perspective with an interesting form. The composition has at it's center has a mesmerizing cabochon of polished black onyx. This cabochon is framed by two crescent moons of sparkling sterling silver. The presentation, with its smooth polished surface & curvilinear lines, is perfectly abstract. It is a lovely example of the bold modernist looks crafted in the style of the late Mid Century design aesthetic. The truly interesting aspect of this cuff however is that the design, ultimately, has a distinctly Mexican flavor. This symbol is found in many NeoPagan & Wiccan traditions as a symbol of the Goddess. This abstract design however depicts the waxing & waning moons facing the full moon rather than in an oppositional position. The full moon is represented the polished black cabochon of natural onyx. This symbol also represents the three phases of womanhood, in the aspects of Maiden, Mother, & Crone.
