Description

Here is an antique oil on tin painting of a Middle Ages Medieval Dentist extracting a tooth. Or rather has already extracted it & is holding it up while his patient is hunched over in pain. The art looks like a good rendition of a Renaissance Medieval painting but is probably the early 1900s. My research shows it is painted after a piece of art by Gerrit Dou (Dutch, 1613-1675) titled 'The Dentist'. The art is framed in a beautiful darker gold compo & wood frame. The entire piece measures 11 x 12 3/8 in. Painting only is about 8 1/2 x 10 in. It is in good as is a vintage condition with a few scrapes, a few small dings on his nose, & a few pots of paint worn off the frame. I have another piece of art of a scientist shown in the last pic ( NOT Sold in this listing ), that will be listed in a separate listing in my shop. Perfect for Renaissance, Gothic, Medieval, Eclectic, & antique dentistry collectors. ❤️Please save my shop as a favorite if you like vintage & antique paintings & décor, thanks! Gina AntiqueARTGarden Since this is a VINTAGE piece of art it will not be perfect. All vintage pieces show some wear & signs of age. Please enlarge the pics to judge the condition to your own standards. Antique Medieval Dentistry Dentist Pulling Tooth Middle Ages Dutch Oil Portrait Painting Framed After Gerrit Dou
