Description

Welcome to Pioneer Fossils Here is a stunningly beautiful piece of ammolite, polished on one side. It is from an ancient ammonite, from the Cretaceous, about 70 million years ago. The species of ammonite was Placenticeras. This specimen is about 1.47 inches at greatest length, & weighs 16 grams. It is from the world famous Korite Mine of Bearpaw Formation, Alberta, Canada. The piece is shown in bright light. Like all ammolite, it needs bright light to make its colors come "alive". Looking at ammolite on a nice sunny day in direct sunlight works very well. The beautiful colors will appear to look differently, in some cases, depending on the angle they are viewed from. COMBINED SHIPPING: We make every effort to combine shipping costs & we refund any overpayment back to you, on the same day we ship the item. We have given hundreds of partial refunds for combined shipping savings. We will do our best to combine purchases to save shipping costs. in some cases, that is easy, in some cases, not as much. Our items are of vastly different sizes & weights, but we never use shipping as a profit center. We would rather refund the shipping overpayment back to you, & have a happy buyer. We are happy to enclose a COA (Certificate of Authenticity). Some words of caution about COA's: Do not let them become a substitute for learning about the specimens. We have been working with fossils & minerals for many years, & we have seen hundreds of very nice-looking COA's, some that are wrong, mis-describing a specimen. in addition, the person selling the item is often the one who writes the COA (potential conflict of interest). Finally, a COA, without a photo of the exact specimen on the COA itself, is worthless, as it can later be placed next to any other fossil or mineral. We suggest that in addition to relying on a COA, that people read & study the subject. IMPORTANT: If you are not satisfied with your order, please contact us, & let us make it right, before giving any feedback. We want to make sure you are fairly treated by us always. Signatures upon delivery: Size or value of the item may dictate whether we will add a "Signature Required".
