Here's the text: "Memo to Members of the Human Race, from Martin Luther King Jr. I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Have you forgotten? Years ago, when my children were young, I took them to a Martin Luther King day celebration. We drove to a beautiful church in the city to hear wonderful music & listen to a renowned guest speaker. I wanted them to know of the legacy of the amazing teacher who was Dr. King, to know of his struggles & of the values for which he stood. But the messages were not those; they were of bitterness & resentment; the message was not of Dr. King's hope that we place our highest measure of value on a person's character, on the way he treats others. The speaker instead addressed us as members of one of two groups.. victims or victimizers, divided only by race & color. Dr. King's hope that we see each other as unique, thinking individuals, with important talents, experiences, passions & goals was lost. I remember the night with sadness.. sadness for Dr. King, & sadness for what the night could have meant, the difference it could have made to the many people in attendance. I taught my own lesson to my children about Dr. King, one I think he would have liked. The message & surrounding border are printed on a heavy weight textured warm white card stock & paired with a wonderful 4" x 6" wood & metal multi level frame, its edges highlighted in gold leaf. Included are clear glass, easel backing to stand, & saw tooth hangar to hang. RETURNS/EXCHANGES If ever you're unhappy with a purchase, it will be replaced.
