Description

Ah the view from Mt. Washington, looking down at Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle, with the roar of an interstellar rocket-ship overheard. Recapture those memories with this 11 x 17 inch print. Comes with this description: Constructed in 1891 to serve the needs of the wealth coal & steel barons of the Allegheny region, the Pittsburgh & Allegheny Spaceport was designed for quick exploratory trips throughout the solar system & international trips to Europe. While the Spaceport never saw extensive commercial use, Henry Clay Frick would utilize the spaceport to lay claim to the mineral resources of the moon, until the cost of transporting raw materials across the 240,000 miles distance between the Earth & her celestial twin proved too prohibitive.
