Marc Chagall, born July 6th, 1887, passed 1985. The eldest of 9 children, born with the name Moishe Segal. in August 1910 Maxim Vinaver, maecenas & deputy of the State Duma of 1905 gave the young painter a scholarship enabling him to go to Paris for studies. After arrival in Paris Moishe Segal adopted a pseudonym & became henceforth Marc Chagall in the French manner. in 1970, he painted "Artist with Model", which there are variations of. This plate signed Chagall, Lithograph, # 97/300 has it's Certificate of Authenticity, as well as Certificate of Appraisal, from 1989, just 4 years after his passing. The vivid colors, the bold appeal, the defined look into the eyes of the painter, as well as what he painted, makes this artwork an excellent example of who Marc Chagall was.
