A nice hand crafted lidded vessel made by long time Oregon studio potter James Robinson. Jim has been a studio potter based in Phoenix Oregon for nearly 50 years & worked at the Rookwood Pottery from 2009 - 2016 as a glaze chemist. This large stoneware jar has a unique carved design of dolphins swimming in water around the vase. The lid has a mini dolphin fin finial on the top. The original gallery label is affixed to the base which reads Stupa Dolphin Jar - Stoneware - Jim Robinson. It measures 9.5" tall to the top of the lid by 9.75" wide by 8.75" wide at the base. This large hand formed stoneware piece is glazed in a pale green glaze with dark brown to black highlights. The base retains the original studio tag & is signed in the clay ROBINSON. The condition is nice & original on this Oregon studio pottery jar. A great piece for your northwest studio pottery collection.
