Cosmos Sulphureus - Dwarf Lemon will bring a ray of sunshine to your garden with their yellow flowers. These plants do well in hot, arid climates, & can grow in temperatures up to & that exceed 100 oF! These plants have a blooming season that ranges from early Summer to early Fall, do best in full sun, & will grow between 18 - 24 inches tall. These flowers will attract pollinators to your garden such as Butterflies, Bees, & especially Birds, since the Cosmos seed is a popular food source for them. These plants are also resistant to Deer & Rabbits which is always a good thing since we don't need those critters ruining your garden! They make great cut flowers, do well in containers, & also in beds & borders in the garden. They are also easy to grow & low maintenance, which is always a good thing for the busy gardener. A little history behind this plant; Spanish conquistadors searching for gold discovered these flowers while on their journeys through Mexico. Priests gave the flowers their name "Cosmos", which is a Greek word that means a harmonious whole, because of their neatly spaced petals. These flowers were often found in mission gardens.
