In 1958, the US Post Office Department issued this 3-cent stamp commemorating the dedication of the Mackinac Straits Bridge. This bridge connects the two peninsulas of Michigan across the Mackinac Straits between Lake Huron & Lake Michigan. The stamp was designed by Arnold Copeland. in the center is an angled view of the Mackinac Bridge showing the suspension span between the towers with an ore boat beneath. Please indicate what color of frame you prefer: walnut, black, or white. All frames are 3.75 by 4.75 inches & are made of wood. A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 1109.
