Fantastic Handprinted figurative piece of fabric by Swedish designer Stig Lindberg. This fantastic mid century modern pattern is called Melodi (Melody), & is in a deep petrol background color. This pattern is one of his most loved & well known. Made in high quality linen, heavy weight. The fabric has a lovely luster. Would look amazing as a wall hanging decoration. Width: 150 cm. / 60" Length: 100 cm. / 40" Sold per half meter (50 cm) or 1 meter (100 cm) One of Sweden's most important postwar designers, Lindberg created whimsical studio ceramics & graceful tableware lines during a long career with the Gustavsberg pottery factory. Stig Lindberg studied painting at the University College of Arts, Crafts & Design. in 1937, he went to work at Gustavsberg under Wilhelm Kåge. in 1949, he was named Kåge's successor as art director. From this period until he left Gustavsberg in 1980, he designed individual ceramic items, as well as factory produced ranges & lines of dinnerware.
