XRAY MARKER POSITIONING CARD / Cheat sheet This is a little cheat sheet. Please see image above There been many times when a rare exam comes in which I totally forgot how many degrees to turn the patient or how many degrees to turn the tube. So I make this handy cheat sheet card that has some of the basic information to get me through without pulling out the Merrill's book. It can be used as a marker holder as well. How to use this card: So it has 3 sections. (1) Position, (2) Body Placement, (3) Tube Angle (1) Position - So this is straightforward. It tells which position we are looking at. Example from picture reference above: "Sacrum - AP Axial" We are looking to do an AP Axial view of the Sacrum (2) Body Placement: The body placement will be "AP" Position (3) Tube Angle: This shows how many degrees to turn the tube & whether it is cephalic, caudad or perpendicular. if it is perpendicular, it will be the perpendicular symbol which is ⊥ So for this example, "Sacrum - AP Axial" - the tube angle is "15 degrees cephalic". Please note: This is not meant to replace the whole Merrill's book nor contains every single angulations. It is just way to many information to fit in one card. It will have majority of the positions that requires angulations. This card will also have some basic Fluoroscopy positions as well. The views depend greatly on your site radiologist. This section only provide you with the basic information. For example, Esophagogram : (1) Positions : AP, Lat, RAO (2) Body Placement: RAO 35-40 degrees (AP & Lat is straightforward, the RAO is the only one with body angulations.
