For sale is a wonderful, vintage Nepalese Ganesh or Ganesha or Ganesa, made from gilded brass using cloissons & stone rather than the usual cloisonne enamels. We think this piece was made sometime in the mid 1900s, probably 1950s or 1960s, possibly a bit earlier. The condition is great, with a few missing turquoise pieces on the lower trunk, & one missing coral piece from the crown. These are not very noticeable, but take a look at all the photos to see all the details. The dimensions are about 9" high by about 7" across. This would be a super item if you enjoy Ganesha images, as he is the Remover of Obstacles & an icon of Auspicious Beginnings :). This is also a nice example of Himalayan art from the 20th C, carefully done with real stones instead of glass, which was often used later.
